Beach pictures

We tried in July to have pictures made on the beach. There were torrential downpours that afternoon. We did a quick trip down in September to have them made becuase I was bound and determined that I was going to have them. While we were waiting on Michael, our wedding photographer, to get there, Steve and I snapped a few with our camera. I think Steve might have missed his calling. He can take some great pictures...

My family, waiting patiently.....
They look so good together.....
Wow... are these the two that are constantly agruing with each other?!?!?!

Be careful... someone might think you like each other.....

Steve actually got better shots of the two big kids than the professional photgrapher got.... and we love our phtographer...
I wish they could look this happy all of the time.....

Can you tell he is a proud daddy????

As we were leaving Sunday, we saw this store with this HUGE adirondack chair.... I had to get the kids to climb into it and snap a few pics....

Weekend at Massanutten

We went to Massanutten Resort in Virgina the first weekend in December. It snowed 6 inches as we were driving up there. The kids enjoyed seeing all the snow...

Stevie and David were playing on the bed....
The drool monster is at it again.......
It is never ending..........

We spent all day Sunday in an indoor water park. It was odd to be in a swimsuit and be surrounded by snow....
Stevie is pretty limber...........maybe she will be the wrestler her daddy wants her to be...

Getting Ears Pierced...

We have been trying to get Stevie's ears pierced for the last several months. School starting and moving houses definitely put those plans on hold. We were determined to get them done before Christmas. The day we took the big kids to see Santa we made the time to get Stevie's ears done. I told Steve that he would have to hold her. I knew she wouldn't like it.

Daddy and Stevie waiting patiently.....
After checking to make sure that the holes were even, we did the left one first.....
After two seconds of tears, we did the right one....
A little thumb sucking makes every thing better....She had a pretty quick recovery.

Proud daddy....he is already planning her next piercing... does THAT surprise ANYONE?!?!?!

Lil' Grandfather Christmas Tree Farm

We went to Alleghany County on the first Friday in December to pick out our Chirstmas tree. It was starting to get dark when we got there, but we still had fun. We rode out to the trees in a trailer pulled by a wagon. The driver actually knew Steve from when he coached at East and North. We got to go to a special set of trees. The kids had a ball roaming around covered in blankets looking for the "perfect" tree. We came back down and enjoyed a horse ride and hot chocolate while they made roping for us to take to the house.

Stevie enjoyed the tractor ride....

The big kids had fun picking out a tree.... even if it was a little cold.....

It was a really neat place to visit... we will go back next year....
They made roping for us as we waited....

Diapers

Watching Steve change diapers is hilarious. He is quite good at it and has a nose for pee. The dirty diapers are the most fun to watch him change. As we were introducing more and more foods into Stevie's diet, her dirty diapers changed a little. Steve would gag the entire time he changed the diapers. It was all that Pam and I could do to not wet our pants while he did. Of course, neither of us offered to change it for him.....

Carrots

Stevie follows every bite with her thumb....

...which makes for messy faces....does it surprise you that she LOVES carrots...

Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving this year for the Braune family was at our house. Michele and her boyfriend Neil came over from Abingdon and Michael came down from Midlothian. Steve, Michael, Pam, Stevie and I went to see the TransSiberian Orchestra the night before Thanksgiving. We had gone last year in Virginia with Steve's parents and wanted Michael to be able to enjoy the experience. I have learned in my short time in the Braune family that the food is always great. Michael out did himself this year. He even made baby food for Stevie. He fixed baby cauliflower, broccoli and rutabaga. Stevie's first real food was a rutabaga!!! She actually really enjoyed it. We all enjoyed our time together over the holiday. We missed Grandpop, but all knew how much he would have enjoyed watching us eat all that great food.

Thicker rice is much easier....

All the excitement wore Stevie out...

Every bite Stevie eats is followed up by her thumb.... it makes for some messy eating....

Thanksgiving dinner with rutabagas....

Uncle Michael was an awesome helper...he loves to feed Stevie...

I don't know who was making the funniest face here.....

24 weeks....

Snoozin' with daddy....

I'm getting bigger.....

Oyster Festival

We spent the first weekend in November in Midlothian. We traveled on Saturday to the Oyster Festival in Urbanna, VA. Michele and Michael went with us and we really had fun. We had gone with Pam and Steve last year. We got to relive a lot of great memories.

On the bridge leaving Urbanna....

The Braune children.....
On Sunday, we worked around the house before we came back.

David helped refill the bird feeders.....

Sarryn actually helped blow leaves from the driveway....

Aunt Shelley helped feeding Stevie....

First Food

We started feeding Stevie rice cereal at the beginning of November. The first I made was too runny but she soon learned to love it....

Steve didn't really like the mess that came with runny cereal......is anyone surprised?????

Halloween

Halloween in Windsor Park was fun. We had almost 300 trick or treaters this year. It was amazing!!!!

Stevie's First Home ASU Game

We took Stevie to her first home ASU game. It was against Steve's Uncle Jim's Alma mater, Georgia Southern. It started out as a nice day but got cold and wet as the game progressed. All was happy in Boone that day as the Mountaineers stomped the Eagles. It gives us another year to brag to about our Mountaineers.

Stevie is going to be a bee for Halloween and the costume colors were just perfect to add another layer against the cold.

Can you tell it got colder as the day went on???
