December 2011 - Christmas at Our House!!!!

After finishing up with all the Christmas craziness in Winston, we returned to Dobson.  After all the stress of trying to make sure that it is all perfect, the opening of presents is soooo much fun!!!!  I love watching everybody get excited as they unwrap their gifts....

...Stevie LOVED the tree this year....she did a great job of decorating and actually left it alone MOST of the time...

... the stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

...David LOVED his new LEGO book...

...Sarryn liked her make-up pouches and especially the goodies in them...

...everybody loved Stevie's ZooTalker Safari set...

...Daddy LOVED his Outer Banks fishing book....Sarryn and I kept it a secret for WEEKS!!!!...

December 2011 - Christmas in Winston

The month of December normally means a lot of travel for us.  We try to get to every family event that happens....

Dinner with my mom's family....

...all the great-grandchildren...

...all the grandchildren and their spouses....

... 4 of the sisters and most of their spouses...

...Christmas Eve at Granmama and Poppy's house...

...Christmas Eve at with my dad's family at JoJo's house...

December 2011 - Calling in the Reindeer

When I was growing up, my mom always worked at the hospital on Christmas Day.  Santa Claus always stopped at our house first on Christmas Eve and we opened everything BEFORE we went to bed. For the last 7 years, since I have the kids on Christmas Eve, that has become our tradition as well.  In an effort to get Santa to our house first, Sarryn and David, and now Stevie, spread a 50 pound bag of "reindeeer" corn before we leave to go to Winston each Christmas Eve.  This year was a treat.  Stevie really got into the spreading.

Sarryn helped Stevie get a cupful....

...Stevie is more of a "dumper" than a "spreader"...

...but I think she had fun...

...yep... I'm positive that she had ball...

...my girls....

...David wanted to make sure that the reindeer in the woods got some too....

...by the time Stevie was done, each reindeer had their own pile...

December 2011 - Church Programs

We had lots of different programs at church this holiday season.  We had a reading of the Night Before Christmas at family Night Supper....

... Sarryn and Stevie with Sarryn's buddies....

...David with his buddy Carter...

...Sarryn's school chorus combined with the adult choir at our church for our Christmas Cantata..it was neat to get to combine our groups for one performance...

...I took advantage of our beautiful decorations at church to get some pics of the kids...

...I definitely do NOT have the patience to take pictures of children for a living...

...Sarryn and David were pretty good sports....

...it is amazing to see how much taller Sarryn is...

...David was pretty full of himself that night...

...Stevie was pretty excited too...it is a real wonder that I got any usable pictures....

December 2011 - David's DARE graduation at MCA

David completed the DARE program at Millennium this year.  I went over for the graduation ceremony.  He was really proud of his accomplishments.
