20 weeks and growing...

We had our 20 week visit this morning and everything still looks great. Dana, our wonderful ultrasound lady, took some great pictures today. We got one of her sucking her toes!!! Dr. Venus says that I am going to have to get used to be "AMA", or advanced maternal age. This is definitely not as easy as it was 9 years ago. I have only gained 13 pounds so far, which seemed to please everyone. Dr. Venus confirmed our June 5 delivery, barring any decisions on Baby B's part to make an early appearance.

We are going to register for baby stuff this Saturday. Steve likes to use the store's register gun! It should be fun. We have bought a few pieces of clothing already.

We are going to Matt and Amanda's this weekend for the Super Bowl. A lot of friends will be there. Hopefully I can learn from Amanda how to put pictures on the blog. Our plan is to take pictures of the ultrasound pictures so that we can put them on. Steve actually sent a picture message today of one of the pictures of her sucking her thumb.

Guess what?!?!?!?

If any of you have visited the blog before, you will notice a slight color shift. This shift is due to our visit yesterday to the Comprehensive Fetal Care Center in Winston-Salem. We are definitely, no questions about it having a girl!!! Steve was a little stunned but almost immediately began planning what athletic endeavors she would tackle...1st female state champion wrestler in NC, swimmer, tennis player, the female Tiger Woods... the list goes on and on. He says he hopes she has as much hair on her face as he does on his so that no boys will look at her and he won't have to worry about dating. For those of you who haven't seen Steve lately, he now resembles a bald Grizzly Adams because he is on a self initiated shaving stike until the house sells. As we left the office, we knew we had to start thinking about names because we had given little thought to girl names. We are still working on it. I think we will find something that we both like. We can now start to buy things that SHE might need. WOW!! Are we young enough to do all this???

Finally, everyone knows!!!!!

The last of the family members found out the great news on Christmas Eve. My mom's family found out on December 21. I don't think anyone was really surprised. My dad's family found out Christmas Eve. I didn't say anything to anyone and just walked around like everything was normal. Finally about 2 1/2 hours after getting there, my aunt finally asked me. I said yes and everyone was excited. I think they all knew it would be happening and that it was just a matter of time.

Sixteen Week Appointment

We had our last visit on December 31. I was scared that I had gained too much weight over the holidays. I felt that all I had done the last week of school was eat, not to mention the two weeks out of school. Steve and I had a bet as I stepped onto the scale. I said that I had gained at least 5 lbs. He took the "over" claiming that it had to be at least 8!!! It was only 4 !!!!! My total weight gain so far has only been 9 lbs. Not bad for the girl who "does pregnant in a LARGE fashion" according to my mother. The sonogram technician was able to do the anatomy check early because the baby was taking such good pictures. Everything looks great. The only picture we didn't get was the gender shot. Oh well, we go to Winston-Salem for our big 3D ultrasound on January 13. Hopefully we can find out then!!!

The doctor said everything looks great with the pregnancy which was nice to hear since I am "advanced maternal age" (AKA old!!!)
